Please find your grade level and complete these lessons and activities if I am out sick.
Grades 1 & 2 Choose any of the activities below. Feel free to use more than one during the same period! Shortcuts to all of these programs can be found on the desktop.

and Keyboard ClimberStarfall: This is best for first grade. Some second graders may enjoy/benefit, but it may be too young for others.
TuxPaint: Located at bottom of page: Students should be able to access this program via the shortcut on the desktop or the Start Menu. Students may free draw, using the paint tool, stamps, backgrounds, etc, or you may give them a topic based on upcoming holidays, events, etc, and have them illustrate the topic. This can be used for an entire period, or to reward good behavior during the last part of class (they LOVE it!).

Website: Dance Mat Typing This is a typing program that we use regularly. Its is usually easiest to have the students navigate to my website, click on TYPING -> Games and Websites, and then click on the Dance Mat Typing Link.) If for some reason they can’t do this, the address is: http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/typing/.
Website: Typing Web This is a typing program that tracks students’ scores, progress, and accuracy. 4th grade students should have accounts by the 2nd half of the year. (3rd graders do not have Typing Web accounts yet.)
Website: Word Magic This is a spelling and word game, most easily accessed by bing “TVO Kids Word Magic” or typing in the address:http://www.tvokids.com/games/wordmagic. There is also a link to this game on my website under “Finished Early”.
Activity: Story Starters Students may pick a story or spin their own at http://www.scholastic.com/teachers/story-starters/. . They may choose to write/type their story in a Google Doc, or use Google Presentation/Slides to tell their story.
End of Class Reward: TuxPaint, TuxPaint can be used to reward good behavior during the last few minutes of class (it is a drawing program – they LOVE it!).

Activity/Program: Google Slides (Google version of Power Point)Students may use Power Point to create a “biography” slideshow about a person of their choice. This may be someone that they know personally, or a celebrity.
Activity: Story Starters Students may pick a card from the Story Starters can on the round table at the front of the classroom. Students should use Google Docs to complete the assignment on the card, focusing on proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc.
End of Class Reward: Google Earth Students may use this program to explore different parts of the earth if they have extra time.
